The City of Fountain Electric Dept serves aproximatley 16,000 customers with 28 employees. Our main operation headquarters are located in Fountain Colo, which is approximatley 18 minutes south of Colorado Springs, Colo. and approximatley 32 minutes north of Pueblo Colo.

Primary Functions:  Install, maintain, repair and/or remove overhead and underground distribution lines in accordance with system and Division standards; pull wire, connect transformers, erect and set poles, set meter sockets, transformers, and switching gear; trouble shoot issues to these operations; rubber glove up to 7,200 v; locate faulted primary and secondary cable lines, and repair and retore; complete service orders as needed. Clears right-of-ways of all obstruction for installation and maintenance of lines. Inspect substation records, and conduct monthly maintenance checks for abnormal conditions. Responds to energency calls as required. Perform other duties and special projects as requested by Supervisor.

$31.68 at time of hire, eligible for $32.47 after 6 months, eligible for $33.41 after first year. An aditional 5% deferred compensation contribution may be applied toward the retirement plan or kept as wage.

Posiition Requirements: Must possess electrical journey certification, class A Colorado commerical driver's license including a tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain within the first 90 days of employment, first aid and CPR certifications, certified in climbing annually. High school diploma or GED, completed a four year approved Electric Transmission and Distribution Apprentice program. Ability to Rubber Glove up to 7,200 V.

Hours of work - 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. However, emergencies and standby duties will apply.
